He hit the road with the Rhythm Express, touring the circuit exhaustively and shopping his first demo until he landed a deal with Emerald City Records. At Emerald City Records, The Rhythm Express released their first record. The record received a lot of airplay and started to move up the charts. John toured with the band a while longer and continued to work on his own music.
Introduced to various known artists, John had the wonderful opportunity to debut his songwriting ability. He toured and made lots of new friends and formed new bands. He also wrote many hit songs for other artists. His songs went on to be a tremendous success. John kept writing and after the touring was over decided to venture out on his own.
SIMPLY J.R. CD - Here the world got to listen to John as a solo artist and songwriter. Soon after the CD was released John received airplay on radio stations. The response was overwhelming. The first song off the CD took off. It was being played on school campuses, bars and the internet.
UNPLUGGED CD - This CD was nothing more than vocals and acoustic guitar. Once again, John's songwriting abilities were shown to the world. John performed these songs at colleges and they just loved the songs. This CD captured John's vocals along with his music.
TAKE MY HAND - This song was dedicated to all the hurricane Katrina & Rita victims. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the American Red Cross.
John had a wonderful opportunity to perform for our troops in New York City. There he introduced another two patriotic songs titled: Free and They Are Our Heroes.These songs were recorded and later placed onto DVDs. They are now available for sale on this website. These DVDs are also being shown at various locations throughout New York City. A portion of the proceeds will go to the USO.
FOR ALL OUR HEROES Single CD - This CD was a very special one. It deals with past and current issues that had affected New York and the World.
As many of us responded in their own way to what happened on 9/11, John responded with his music and these songs. The FOR ALL OUR HEROES Single CD is in memory and honor of those who were lost on 9/11. You will never be forgotten. This CD also pays tribute to all our armed forces who in the past years have died protecting our great country and those who are protecting our country now. " THEY ARE THE TRUE HEROES "
The FOR ALL OUR HEROES CD has broken new ground for John and his career. John has received letters from the Mayor, Governor, State Senator and the President of The United States regarding his songs.
2007 - 2008 John is currently performing for various organizations in the tri-state area that honor our troops. These are benefit dinner/concerts that are set up for service men and woman that are being deployed overseas or returning home. He also does these events for veterans of past and present wars. These shows are usually closed to the general public and are for military personnel and their families. These dinner/concerts are also sponsored by different companies that show their support for our heroes. John performs for free and donates a portion of his CD sales along with his CD's to various charities.
